Ben und Semir geht der Schwerverbrecher Hendrik Larsen ins Netz, seine Komplizen jedoch können entkommen. Die Verhaftung Larsens ist auch deshalb so wichtig, weil sie die letzte Hoffnung für ein todkrankes Kind ist: Eine Knochenmarkspende des mehrfachen Mörders würde die leukämiekranke Paula retten. Doch soweit kommt es nicht. Larsen nutzt den OP-Termin zur Flucht und droht, ganz Köln radioaktiv zu verstrahlen, sofern er nicht seine geforderten 25 Millionen Euro erhält. Ben und Semir stecken in der Zwickmühle, denn sie müssen Larsen lebend fassen, um nicht nur die Stadt, sondern auch Paula zu retten. Diesen Tatbestand macht sich der gefährliche Soziopath zunutze und treibt ein perfides Spiel mit den verzweifelten Cops.
